De Morgenzon
De Morgenzon — Stellenbosch, Where Baroque Music Grows the Wine
De Morgenzon (Afrikaans for "the morning sun") is an estate in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa's Western Cape, where the mountains funnel cool Atlantic breezes across the vineyards and Baroque music is played to the vines — a practice the Oligers family began in 2003 and that, whether or not you believe in the science, has become part of the estate's identity.
The DMZ range represents De Morgenzon at its most accessible: fresh, varietally correct wines that showcase why South African Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc have become some of the most exciting white wines in the world. The old-vine Chenin in particular captures the balance between tropical richness and cool-climate tension that makes the Cape's best whites so compelling.
