Michter's
Michter's — American Whiskey on Its Own Terms
Michter's traces its American whiskey roots to 1753, making it one of the oldest distilling legacies in the United States. Today's Michter's is made in Louisville, Kentucky, with an obsessive focus on quality at every stage: they toast their barrels to a custom specification, age their whiskey until it's ready (not until it's scheduled), and use heat-cycling warehouses to accelerate interaction between wood and spirit without rushing it.
The Toasted Barrel series represents Michter's most experimental releases: whiskeys finished in additional barrels with a custom toasted — rather than charred — stave. The process adds a completely different layer of flavour complexity: baking spice, caramelised oak, and a sweetness that is distinctly American but unlike anything else on the market.
